Empower African Children
Parish is proud to announce a partnership with EAC, a faith-based organization that believes in the transforming power of education and sees the promise and potential of orphans and vulnerable children in Africa. The key barrier facing the orphaned children in Uganda is the lack of access to secondary school. Only about 15% of the children go on to school after 6th grade because of the cost. Parish hopes to make a difference by helping EAC raise funding for a secondary school in Kampala, Uganda.
The Spirit of Uganda Tour is the public face of EAC, comprised of an exuberant group of talented children, ages 8-18. They have added Parish to their 2010 tour and will be performing here on Feb 23, 2010.
What a unique opportunity for Parish to have a service project on a global level, allowing our students to meet and interact with those whom they are helping and provide a personal connection with these inspiring children.

Jan. 25-31- Parish Week at Picasso’s Pizza and Grill
Parish and Picasso’s are joining together to help support Empower African Children. Dine-in, Carry-out or Delivery at any of the 3 locations and Picasso’s will donate 15% of your bill to Empower African Children. Just mention Parish or EAC when placing an order or when paying your bill.
Jan. 25-Feb. 4- Spirit of Uganda T-shirt Sale- $10.00
T-shirts may be worn with uniform bottoms on Feb 23, the day of the Spirit of Uganda performance. Deadline for T-shirt orders is Feb 4th.
Feb. 12- Picasso’s Pizza Lunch Orders Due
$5 for 2 slices of pizza, cookie and drink! Celebrate our Ugandan friends with a pizza lunch on Feb 23. Once again Picasso’s is helping Parish support Empower African Children by providing a special lunch. Lunch must be pre-ordered. Turn in forms to your child’s teacher or the front office.
Feb. 23 at 10:00 a.m. - Spirit of Uganda performance at Midway Gym
Performance for student only (1-12 grades) Hillcrest students will be bused to the Midway gym. Prek-K students will view performance by video.
Feb. 23 at 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Parish Gives Celebration
A celebration of friendship with song, dance and art featuring the Ugandan children and our Parish students and a short performance of Spirit of Uganda.
