Congratulations Lady Panthers Nov 9, 2007 TAPPS State Volleyball Final Four Parish came within one game of reaching the TAPPS Class 5A state final before being eliminated today at the state tournament at TCU’s Rickel Building. Parish (25-14) lost a back-and-forth match to Houston Second Baptist in the semifinals before the Lady Panthers’ season came to an end. Parish won the third and fourth games after falling behind 0-2. Second Baptist won the fifth game, 15-12.
“It was an awesome run,” Lady Panthers coach Jenny Neuhoff said. “Other than winning a state championship, it couldn’t have been better. We had our district’s MVP, Newcomer of the Year, four girls on first-team all-district, three on second-team and one honorable mention.”
Parish sophomore Whitney Keith led the banner season as the TAPPS District 2-5A MVP. Freshman and first-year Parish student Holly Hopkins was the district’s top newcomer.
It was a great year for seniors Krissy Daniel, Chrissy Luke and Camie Robertson, who helped set the foundation for Parish establishing itself as one of the state’s top programs.
