Parish Swimmers Named to 2007 Private School All-State Swimming List May 2, 2007

After winning the TAPPS 5A state swimming title in February, seven members of the Panther swimming and diving team were named to the Texas Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association All-State Swimming Team.

Freshman Marylyn Toldeo took 1st place ranking honors in the 100 meter fly for her record-breaking TAPPS state performance in which she won the event with a time of 57.59 seconds. In the 200 individual medley category, she received a 4th place ranking after her 2 minute, 11.61 seconds finish at the 2006 North TISCA swimming and diving meet. Toldeo also received a 4th place ranking for her 1:07.80 time in the 100 breast at the TAPPS North Regional competition.
Junior Hayley Hatfield was ranked 18th on the All-State Team after her 2:11.61, 3rd place performance in the 200 freestyle at the TAPPS state swim meet. She also received a 14th place ranking in the 500 free for her 3rd place, 5:53.98 TAPPS state finish.
The girls’ 200 medley relay team of junior Callie Cutler, junior Grace Kelsoe, Hatfield and Toldeo won the event at state with a time of 2:04.23. Their impressive state finished garnered the team a 9th place TISCA ranking.
The girls’ 400 free relay of Hatfield, sophomore Chelsea Jones, Cutler and Toledo received a 9th place ranking for their 4:09.94, 2nd place finish at the state swim meet.
The girls’ 200 free relay of Jones, sophomore Kristen Stevenson, Kelsoe and freshman Sallie Weir earned a 12th place ranking for the team’s 2nd place, 1:56.40 finish at state.
