Lia Oberstar, Swimming Lia joined the Swimming Panthers in 2005. She is a 1999 graduate of SMU. While swimming for SMU, she was a 4-time NCAA champion and a 20-time NCAA All-American. She represented the United States at major international competitions from 1996-2002 as part of the National Team. She is a 2-time former American Record holder as well as a 3-time Masters World Record holder having recently set a national record in Masters swimming in the 200 medley relay.
Michele Pappas, Diving Michele is a 1981 Graduate from SMU. While at SMU, she was a 4 Time All-American and the 1979 National Champion on the 3 meter springboard. She placed 7th at the 1980 Olympic Trials. Michele has been coaching diving for the past 25 years and currently assists the SMU diving coach. She is also a stay at home mom with 3 children aged 15, 13 and 6.
