Panther Upper School Football Completes UNDEFEATED Season, 10-0!!
In an unlikely, almost unbelievable story, the Panther Upper School football team in its very first year of high school football, with a 26-man roster containing 12 boys who had never played football before, completed an UNDEFEATED 10-0 season!!! The season was the best possible way to kickoff the Panther Upper School football program. Many thought that the first year program would have trouble winning 3 games, much less 10.

"The boys worked very hard and set high goals and did everything they could to achieve those goals,” Coach Nady said. “This is a very good start, but it is only a start. I came here for one reason and that is to build a nationally ranked football program and that is exactly what we are going to do. I am very proud of these boys, and they should be very proud of themselves. This was a very special season for our team, our school and our community. These boys sacrificed a great deal to make this happen, and we have a tremendous staff of coaches who made it possible. I was just along for the great ride."

Here are some eye-popping stats from the Panthers first season:
· The Panther offense averaged 255yds rushing and just under 100yds passing per game for a very impressive total of 355yds total offense per game while racking up 45 touchdowns.
· The Panther defense only allowed 2 teams to score in double digits, racking up 18 sacks and 12 interceptions.
· Special teams blocked 6 punts, converted 12 2pt. attempts and had a kick off return for a touchdown.

All of this in ONLY 10 games!!!!!  Great season and Go Panthers!

Panther Football Caps 10 win season with victory over Cistercian
The Upper School Panther football team closed out its season on October 27 with a 44-6 win over Cistercian. The Panther offense scored an 81-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage.

"The first play was a play two of our boys made up, and I told them earlier in the season if we beat Nolan Catholic we would run it, so we ran it an it went for a 81 yard touchdown,” Coach Nady said. “I was shocked. I thought we would be lucky to get positive yardage; we were very lucky on that one. Cistercian is a classy school and a classy program, and their kids were fundamentally sounds and well coached; we were just faster at a few positions, and we used that to our advantage."

The Panther defense held Cistercian to only 6 points marking the 8th time this season that the Panthers held their opponent to one score or less. The Panther offense scored 44 points marking the 8th time the Panthers have scored 30 or more!!!   The Panther "O" racked up 447 yards of total offense and the Panther "D" only allowed 206 yards of total offense. The Panthers dominated from start to finish.

Panther Football Slays the Giant
October 20, 2005, will always be considered a huge day in Panther football history. That was the day the Upper School Parish Episcopal Panthers (enrollment 197) took on the Rockwall Yellow Jackets (enrollment 2,882) and WON 33-20. It was a very special night with over 1,000 fans in attendance as the Panthers took the field. Facing an opposing roster of twice as many boys, the Panthers fought hard for four quarters.

"Our boys believed in our game plan and had total confidence in our conditioning,” Coach Nady said. “I was very proud of the way they played."

The Panther offense piled up an incredible 409 yards of total offense (231 rushing/178 passing), and the Panther defense held the high-powered Yellow Jacket offense to 284 yards of total offense. It was a HUGE day for the Panther Football program!!! Great Game!

Panther Football Picks Up Two Important Wins
The past two weeks have been outstanding for the Panther Football Team. The Panthers traveled to Tyler to face TK Gorman 35-8 and then returned home to face SPC power All Saints defeating them 45-6. Coach Nady said, "We answered two big questions with these last two games. The first question was, how do we travel?' That is a big one with a young team and I think our boys reacted very well traveling two hours to play against a well coached, athletic, hard hitting team. The second question was, how would we react in a very close game? Against All Saints the score was 12-6 mid way through the third quarter and then we are able to capitalize on a few breaks and the final score was not a good indication of how close that game was. All Saints is a well coached team with several players who will be emerging stars in the next year or two. I was very proud of our boys these past two weeks. We had TEAM wins in both games, every single boy in uniform played a roll in these victories, that is the most important thing!" The Panthers now are 8-0 and face public 5A Rockwall this Thursday. Coach Nady says, "The only way to know how good you are is to play the best team you can find. I like the underdog role, they have 2800 students and we have 185, that is a big challenge for our program and we feel honored to even get the chance to play against such a large program."

High School Team Rolls Past First Baptist
The High Team moved their incredible season to 6-0 on Thursday beating First Baptist 41-0 on the road. The offense had another outstanding night rushing for over 325 yards and passing for over 60 yards. The defense held the opponent to less than 80 yards all night. Coach Nady said, "This was the first game we clearly out hit our opponent. This game is all about blocking and tackling and both involve hitting. It was good to see us finally win the hitting battle in decisive fashion, if we can continue to do that good things will happen. In order to have a chance we will always have to out hit our opponent, that is going to be the corner stone of our entire program."

High School JV Football Improves to 5-0 with upset of 6A Nolan Catholic
The Panthers protected their unbeaten record last night with an exciting upset of 6A football power Nolan Catholic. The Panthers won the game 22-0 surprising many of those in attendance. Coach Nady said, "It was an honor to even get the chance to play such a big school steeped in football tradition. I was very grateful to Nolan for the opportunity and was very proud of our entire team effort. They have a good team, and we were just able to capitalize on a few breaks." The Panthers gained 254 yards on offense with three different players reaching the end zone and allowed 212 yards on defense but denied entrance into the end zone. Coach Nady summarized by saying," This was a great experience for our boys to play in a big stadium against a well coached team with twice as many players. Their effort of our boys was the decisive factor; the coaching staff was just along for the ride!"

Parish Panther High School Football off to a 3-0 Start
The Panther High School Football Team defeated Arlington Pantego last night 36-6 to extended their great start to 3-0. Half of the boys playing this season for Parish are playing football for the very first time in their lives, and the effort these boys have put forth this year has been outstanding! Thus far this season the Panthers have outscored their opponents 86-26.

Last night’s game was highlighted by an 82-yard return for a TD on the opening kickoff and a 97 yard TD pass later in the game. The defense played another outstanding game. Some think that from the looks of the 5th/6th & 7th/8th football teams the future looks very very bright for Panther Football!

JV Football Team Wins Home Opener 9-0
At Parish’s first home JV football game on Aug 25, the Panthers (1-0) shutout the Trinity Christian Cedar Hill Tigers in front of a festive home crowd.

The Panthers put up all their points in the third quarter. The only touchdown came on a 20-yard run and was followed by an extra point that gave the Panthers a 7-0 lead. The Tigers then regained the ball, but the Panther defense held them and got two sacks on that drive, including one for a safety.

“The defense all day just smothered them,” said Coach Nady

The offense also had a good game, as they were able to successfully move the ball by rushing for 192 yards.

Parish will take on Prestonwood Christian Academy next on September 1, at 5 p.m. at PCA.
