Baseball 2008 Information
5th and 6th Grade
General Info
|
· Parents’ meeting follows immediately after the first practice of the season – to recruit dad volunteers and mother helpers; to answer questions/allay fears; and to remind parents & players to schedule individual lessons at SCOUT Training Facility.
· Middle School teacher Murph Honea returns as our 6th grade coach and 5th/6th grade baseball coordinator.
· V/JV coach Adam Yates returns as a ‘skills coach’ to run 5th grade practices – with dads’ help we hope!!
· Coach Honea, Coach Yates, and Coach Ostroff will split the 5th graders into two evenly-split, competitive teams. We’ll plan to make those decisions before Spring Break.
· Parish will provide baseball caps, game jerseys, socks, and belts for the boys. Each boy will need to provide his own PLAIN white baseball pants, gloves, bats, and BLACK cleats for games and practice.
· DPL games begin on or about April 1

· Middle School teacher Andrew Jennings returns as our 8th grade coach and 7th/8th grade baseball coordinator.
· Please welcome Ross Hawley as our 7th grade coach – with dads’ help we hope!!

Practice begins Monday, March 10
Mondays – 6:30 to 8:00
Wednesdays – 6:30 to 8:00 (OPTIONAL with the 8th graders)
Fridays – 4:00 to 5:30
8th Grade:
Practice begins Wednesday, March 25 (after the 8th grade trip)
Mondays, 6:30 to 8:00 (OPTIONAL with the 7th graders)
